- Girl – DC Morse and DI Thursday (Roger Allam) investigate the sudden death of a student and a string of robberies, confounding the solution to a pair of violent murders. Could Morse’s future on the force be in jeopardy.
- Fugue – A strong of Oxford homicides continues with no end in sight. The entire police department is working round the clock, but it’s Morse’s love of opera that may be the key to stopping the killing.
- Rocket – A royal visit to a family-owned munitions factory begins as a proud occasion, but the joyous day ends with murder. Morse delves into the family’s murky past, as well as his own, as he attempts to undercover the culprit.
- Home – While studying for his Sergeant’s exam, Morse investigates the death of an Oxford professor. Meanwhile, an enemy threatens to reveal aspects of Inspector Thursday’s past. Morse must choose between his job and loyalty to his mentor.

- Nocturne – When a man is murdered, Morse’s investigation leads him to a dreary school for girls, where a series of murders took place almost 100 years ago to the day. Morse races to prevent the ghosts of the past from crashing into the present.
- Sway – A woman found choked to death marks the third strangling in a month, putting the Oxford City Police on edge. Morse and Thursday grapple with their own personal travails as they narrow down the list of possible suspects before the Oxford Strangler strikes again.
- Neverland – Morse investigates three troubling new cases, drawing him into a chain reaction of events that could reveal horrors of the past. Morse and Thursday band together to confront corruption extending from the police force to the upper echelons of Oxford society.
