From a first printing of 2,000 copies produceded by anti-war newsletter publisher RECON. This article first appeared in Vietnamese newspapers in 1975. This English translation is an edited version which first appeared under the title "A New Development of the Art of Leading a Revolutionary War" in the Vietnam Courier in the Fall of 1975. With a preface by Chris Robinson ("Learning from Vietnam") and an introduction by Danny Schechter.
In this piece, Vietnam's top military strategist General Giap attributes Vietnam's success to the leadership of the Worker's Party and a flexible military strategy that suited the unique time and place of the conflict and avoided reliance on an outdated form of warfare.
