Thornwillow Press Libretto VIII, one of a limited edition of 4,850 copies bound in paper wrappers, set in Jenson type, and printed letterpress. The edition was designed and produced under the direction of Luke Ives Pontifell.
French-born chef and culinary writer Roland Mesnier served as executive pastry chef at the White House for 25 years (1979-2004). He received 18 gold medals for his pastry creations in competitions around the world and was decorated as a member of the French Legion of Honor. M. Mesnier died in August of 2022.
The chef divulges the secrets of six of his favorite cookie recipes - Brandy Snaps, Chocolate Almond Macaroon Cookies, Ginger Cookies, Hazelnut Souffle Cookies, Palets aux Raisins, and Peanut Butter Cookies filled with Concord Grape Jelly.
