A limited edition of 97 copies, 87 of which are for sale; this set is #6. Volume I: Adelaide - Lotus (1926); Volume II: Malay - Young Mechanic (1927). Publication # 13 of the Marine Research Society. An alphabetical compendium, description and history of all 352 American clipper ships, a class of faster merchant ships that improved the position of the United States in world commerce. Dust wrapper to volume one is a bit rubbed and has a few small chips and edge-tears and darkening to spine. The set is bright and crisp, the scarce matte finish white jackets are in extraordinarily nice condition, in protective mylar.
