A collection of short stories of the West, many set in the region near the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, by Benjamin Drake, founding editor of the Cincinnati Chronicle (1826-1834). Drake is also known for his biographies of Tecumseh and Black Hawk. In original embossed cloth with complete paper title label on spine, modest to moderate foxing, faint ink lines tail-edge of leaves, no ownership markings, tight, a collectible copy of a very scarce item.
