Jason Orton and Ken Worpole, 2005.
Limited Edition. Hardcover.

#051 of a limited hardcover edition of 350 copies. Taken from the authors’ foreword: In the early months of 2005, Jason Orton and Ken Worpole walked, cycled, and occasionally drove, separately or together, much of the 350 miles of Essex coastline on the Thames estuary - taking in the atmosphere, the landscape, and the abiding relationship to the sea. The photographs contained in this book and the essay which accompanies them, tell the story of their collaboration and illustrate their premise that the Essex shoreline is memorable for its obstinate refusal to conform to conventional notions of what is beautiful or picturesque - it is a landscape that is singularly rich in history and full of layered meanings and visual pleasures.
