# 9 of a Limited Edition of 150 copies. The book was designed and printed by Benjamin B. Bullwinkle at The Twombley Press. Linotype composition was by Julius Sebastion of The Homestead Press. Text type is 9 point Olympia Bold on a 12 point slug further leaded 1 point ore. Printing was letterpress using a 10 x 15 Chandler & Price Oldstyle footpowered platen press. The paper is Warren's Old Style.
Lewis Osborne Limited Editions was founded in 1966 in Palo Alto, California, and moved to Ashland, Oregon in 1969. In 1972, Osborne established the Oregon Book Society and over the next six years issued books under that imprint in addition to his own. In his introduction, Harold Otness describes Osborne’s books as having a “restrained and tasteful stye, crisp typography, high quality paper, abundant use of period illustrations, and fine binding.” Harold Otness worked with Osborn between 1975 and 1978 while a librarian at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland. Osborne donated his printing press, type, cases and supplies to the library to be used for instructional purposes and publishing projects, and the library has built a collection of his publications, printing ephemera, and miscellaneous papers. This work is Otness’s memoir of their relationship and work together at SOSC (now SOU).

Clean, crisp, and bright, a very fine copy in the original dust wrapper. The dust wrapper has the following instruction on the front panel: “This is a Dust Cover. Its purpose is to keep dust and other dirt from the binding while in transit. It is not intended to be decorative. Please take it off for display purpose.” The dust cover has done its job admirably.
