Begun as an amplification on writings on apomorphine treatment for heroin addiction in The British Journal of Addiction (1957) and the Evergreen Review (1959). Photo-offset of original manuscript material pasted in three columns with photographs and illustrations. The first edition was produced in an edition of a very few crude copies by Fuck You Press in 1965. City Lights produced two editions published between 1966 and 1968 by Beach Books Texts & Documents. This is the first of the two City Lights printings (Maynard & Miles A12b).
