One of several short articles written by Edgar Allan Poe when he was editor of the "Broadway Journal." The article was first published anonymously in March of 1845 and was first attributed to Poe by John H. Ingram in his book Edgar Allan Poe, His Life, Letters and Opinions (1880). In this article, Poe voices his enthusiasm and optimism for the new anastatic printing technique developed in Germany in the 1840s. Poe printed a letter to "Broadway Journal" subscribers using the technique - the number of letters printed is unknown, but at least four are documented and three have survived.
