Limited Edition of two hundred copies printed on English handmade paper. Printed for David Magee at the Grabhorn Press.

Featuring a tipped-in original leaf from a miniature Book of Hours written and illuminated most probably at Paris in the first half of the fifteenth century. The leaf measures 2-1/4 x 3-1/4” and is illuminated in gold and colors on both sides. Further illustrated with a gilt decorated color reproduction from a miniature representing the Coronation of the Virgin, the subject usually shown at the opening service for the Compline, drawn and hand-colored by Mary Grabhorn. The text is printed in black with blue title-page initial and orange rules throughout. Printed on English handmade paper.

5-15/16 x 7-7/8”, quarter parchment, gilt spine title, decorated paper over boards, deckled edges, 30pp, printed in black with orange rules and blue title initial, with tipped-in manuscript leaf and hand-colored illustration.

A few scattered spots of foxing and a couple of tiny darker dots (ink perhaps?), small scar to margin of one text page, tight, square, bright, clean of owner’s marks, near fine in very good original soiled plain white wrapper with darkened spine and a bit of wear to head of spine, in protective mylar.
