Trump was once a successful ranching community in Colorado’s high plains. Today, only one structure remains. In this photographic monograph, Jake Knapp intersperses scenes from his home in Washington state and photographs taken during three trips to the settlement in July 2019, January 2020, and November 2020 – dates coinciding with notable events in President Trump’s first tenure. Oral histories, poems, and archival photographs from former residents of the settlement are included. The whole explores the nature of change and association and presents a quieter vision of a tumultuous time.
